Stump Grinding & Removal in Longview, TX

Longview, TX · Stump Grinding

Tree Service Longview Crew grinds out the stumps left behind after a removal — yours or someone else’s — across Longview and the surrounding cities. A leftover stump is a trip hazard, a mower-wrecker, a termite magnet and a sprout factory, and it’s the one thing standing between you and a clean, usable yard. We grind well below grade, chase the surface roots, and leave you ready to replant, sod or pour.

Ground out, not just cut down

Grinding turns a stump into a pile of chips a few inches below the soil line, so grass grows back over it and nothing trips you up. We grind 4–10 inches deep depending on what you’re doing next — deeper if you’re replanting or laying sod — and follow the major surface roots that bulge through the lawn. You choose whether we haul the grindings off or leave them as free mulch.

  • Stumps ground 4–10 inches below grade
  • Surface & buttress roots chased back
  • Grindings hauled away or left as mulch
  • Backfill ready for sod, seed or a new tree

One stump or a whole yard

We grind everything from a single ornamental stump to a back lot full of them after a clearing job. Our machines come in several sizes, including compact grinders that fit through a standard gate to reach back-yard stumps without tearing up the fence. Tight access in older Longview neighborhoods is routine for us.

Stump Grinding & Removal FAQ

Stump grinding questions

Straight answers for Longview homeowners.

Call (903) 483-0062
How much does stump grinding cost?
Most single stumps run about $90 to $400 depending on diameter and root spread, with per-stump pricing dropping when there are several. We’ll quote it firm after a quick look.
How deep do you grind?
Usually 4 to 6 inches below grade for lawn, and 8 to 10 inches if you’re replanting or laying sod right over it. Tell us your plans and we’ll grind to suit.
What happens to the roots?
We grind the stump and the major surface roots that show above the soil. The smaller feeder roots are left to break down naturally underground, which they do within a couple of seasons.
Can I plant a new tree in the same spot?
Yes, once we grind deep and remove enough grindings to backfill with clean soil. If you want a tree in the exact spot, just let us know and we’ll prep it for replanting.
